Safe and piano moving made easier

Our movers are often called upon to assist with the moving of safes, pianos, and other so-called "capital items."

Different rates apply, and certain aspects of the job might affect the cost and logistics of the move, but we will discuss the project with you and make sure our movers are prepared to provide a trouble-free service.

Safes/pianos moved by JOG Moving

SAFES

Consider your gun safe moved as long as its weight range is less than 800-900 lb. Other details about the safe or the moving of the safe might affect ability to service. JOG Moving does not charge special rates to move safes less than 350 lb.

Your safe move is not serviceable if 1 or more flights of stairs are involved for any safe heavier than 300-350 lb due to liability and insurance limitations.

PIANOS

Our company will assist you with your spinet, upright, console, or just about any other piano that is not a baby grand or grand piano. You will be referred to another company for grand pianos and most upright grands.

Your piano move is not serviceable if 1 or more flights of stairs are involved due to liability and insurance limitations.

Cost of SAFE moving

  • 2-HOUR MINIMUM: but still hourly based on crew size.
  • SAFE MOVE OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS: $10 travel fee (per mover)
  • SAFE MOVE OUT OF TOWN? Check the OUT-OF-TOWN page for pricing outside the valley
  • AS PART OF A BIGGER MOVE: $45 handling fee (not charged if moved by itself)
  • DISCOUNTS: ask about a cost deduction on your safe move! We try and find you a discount depending on when, where, and how the safe is moving!

Cost of PIANO moving

  • 2-HOUR MINIMUM: but still hourly based on crew size.
  • PIANO MOVE OUTSIDE CITY LIMITS: $10 travel fee (per mover)
  • PIANO MOVE OUT OF TOWN? Check the OUT-OF-TOWN page for pricing outside the valley
  • AS PART OF A BIGGER MOVE: $42 handling fee (not charged if moved by itself)
  • DISCOUNTS: ask about a cost deduction on your piano move! We try and find you a discount depending on when and where the piano is moving.

Tip for the client

  • SAFE MOVES: Make sure and empty your safe prior to our crews arriving to move the safe. JOG Moving will not service your safe move if guns, valuables, or other sensitive items are in the safe.
  • PIANO MOVES: Consider where your piano is going inside your house. You might want to plan a mat, rug, or feet for the legs of the piano, especially if it's going onto hard or new flooring.

Moving other "capital items"

JOG Moving has moved other large or very heavy items that would fall under the same fee structure as safes or pianos. We look forward to talking with clients about their "capital item."

Large items currently NOT moved by JOG Moving:

  • Safes weighing in excess of 750 lb: generally, this is the weight threshold.
  • Grand or Baby Grand pianos: we defer to other outfits when it comes to pianos of this stature.
  • Hot tubs: JOG Moving no longer assists with the moving of hot tubs, especially brand new or 4-seater+ tubs. But we know a guy!
  • Pool tables: Any billiards table that is not disassembled may not be moved between locations by our movers.
  • Commercial-size refrigerators or other industrial appliances: generally speaking, jobs involving these items are passed on to bigger operations with more qualification and/or appropriate equipment.
